The 100 Day Sketchbook Challenge:
Start A Daily Drawing Practice
an illustrated drawing guide by author, illustrator
Hello!
I’m author and illustrator, Mike Lowery.
For more than TWENTY FIVE years I’ve drawn in my sketchbook every single day.
Drawing is one of most important things I do.
My goal with this new book is to show
ANYONE excactly how to start a keep a daily sketchbook habit.
About the book.
Trim: 5x7
120 pages
Filled with easy prompts AND inspiration pages designed to help you turn off your brain and put pen to paper.
LESS THINKING. MORE INKING.
When I started keeping a sketchbook, my primary goal was simply to get better at making art.
Over the years, I learned that the practice is so much more valuable than that.
DRAWING IS GOOD FOR YOUR BRAIN.
Drawing has huge benefits for your wonderful head.
It activates the reward center of our brain
It lowers stress
It lets you focus deeply

THE MOST FUN WAY TO PRACTICE MINDFULNESS.
Written by a sketchbook enthusiast.
In addition to illustrating more than EIGHTY books for kids and adults, I’ve made it a career goal to help others start a sketchbook habit.
I’ve taught more than 80,000 (!!!) students online and in-person. I’m a skillshare top teacher and lead sketchbooking retreats all over the world.
Plus, I show my daily sketchbook on Instagram at @mikelowerystudio
Sketchbooks are a HUGE part of my life.
Who is this book for?
This is a book for anyone who wants to add more drawing to their life. It’s for the working artist who wants to get more confident in the way that they draw, or creatives who just wants to figure out how to take a little relaxing breather during the day. It’s for all the people who want to spend less time doom scrolling and more time making something here in the real world.
Let’s get the word out.
Here are a few ways that I can help market this book.
Over the past decade, I’ve built a following by sharing my love of keeping a sketchbook. In addition to 182k followers on Instagram, I have had more that 80,000 students on skillshare where I teach mini-classes about drawing.
This book is such an important topic for me. I will use these platforms that I’ve built to help promote the book regularly. This is exactly how my previous book, Random Illustrated Facts, has recieved more than 1,000 reviwes on Amazon.
I’m looking for a publisher who will be a partner to help me get the word out about this book. I am constantly doing bookstore and school visits and would love to focus my in-person presenations around this new book.
TOP-SECRET, SUPER-WEIRD BONUS IDEA!
The primary goal of the book is start and keep a daily sketchbook habit, and to do this you have to finish the book. I’ve found that the best way to stay motivated is to have
accountability.
If you’re working on the book and see other people doing it as well, you’ll get the right amount of good pressure to stay on target and get it done.
So, here’s the idea.
I can offer a free online class that comes with the book. It would be a series of short videos that would walk you through some suggestions and tips for getting started. You could take them whenever it works for your schedule, and it would feel like a huge bonus for anyone who buys the book. It’s a way to feel like you’re a part of a community.
This is something I can build on my own, and each book would include a promo code to sign up for the free course.
Pretty awesome, right!?
This book isn’t just a random collection of things to draw.
It’s a step-by-step blueprint that will direct you to starting your daily drawing habit.
The book has ONE primary goal: To get you to draw for 10 minutes every day.
You can do it!
